Tips

Making it work for your guests

Put getting in first

The first thing a guest opens the book for is the door code or the WiFi password. Keep both on the first page, never behind the welcome note.

Write rules as reasons

"Quiet hours from 10 pm because the walls are thin and our neighbours have young children" gets followed. A bare list of don'ts gets skimmed.

Send it before arrival

A printed book only helps once guests are inside. Sharing the same content as a link a few days before check-in answers the parking and key questions before they're asked.

Make it digital

Send it before guests arrive, in their language.

Paste this template into a free GuestIntro guest manual. Guests open it from a link or QR code, read it in any of ten languages, and you update it in seconds when a code changes.

Questions

Common questions

What should be in an Airbnb welcome book?
At minimum: how to get in, the WiFi details, how the heating, kitchen and appliances work, house rules, emergency information, local recommendations and checkout instructions. Put them in the order guests need them, starting with arrival.
Should my welcome book be printed or digital?
Both work, and many hosts do both. A printed copy is easy to find in the home. A digital version can be sent before arrival, updated in seconds when a code changes, and translated automatically for international guests.
How long should a welcome book be?
As short as it can be while still answering the questions you get asked most. For most homes that's four to eight pages. If guests keep messaging you about something, it belongs in the book.
